Lead Preschool Teacher

Description:

The lead teacher will share planning responsibilities with the assistant teacher(s) for a 3 year old class in Park Slope Brooklyn. Responsibilities will include working with children in whole and small groups and individually in a developmentally appropriate way; building relationships with both children and families; planning in collaboration with assistant teacher(s) for appropriate activities that meet children’s needs in all developmental domains; and observing and assessing in an ongoing manner and in a way that informs instruction.

• Work in a collaborative team model
• Follow expectations/guidelines while integrating fresh ideas that are reflective of Giocare’s philosophy
• Perform daily physical tasks to keep the classroom tidy, organized and accessible for the children and teachers
• Attend workshops and professional development as necessary throughout the year
• Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, engaging and evolving with the class.
• Observe children and note what you are observing.
• Communicate with parents using Edukids, Shutterfly, weekly newsletters and in-person conversations
