Description:

The Montessori Day School of Brooklyn is seeking a head teacher for one of our toddler classrooms (immediate hire for the 2022-21 SY). The candidate should hold a certificate in infant/ toddler Montessori instruction and NYS early childhood education (birth-grade 2). The Candidate must also have experience working in a Montessori program with a true commitment and passion for early childhood education. The candidate must possess skills to work well with team and school community members. The ideal candidate is a warm and caring individual with the ability to follow the children’s interests and create a flexible curriculum that is aligned with the pedagogy.

Qualifications:

NYS early childhood certification (birth-grade 2)
Montessori Certification (birth-age 3) those in progress will be considered
3-5 years classroom experience with toddlers
Bachelors or Masters degree in Early Childhood Education
Strong desire for growth and development
Ability to lead a classroom and teaching team
Warm and welcoming demeanor
The ability to problem-solve and think on your feet
Proficiency in Technology (Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, school communication apps, google apps)
