Connecting with a mentor who has experience and expertise to support the effectiveness and goals of early childhood leaders is an essential component of opportunities offered through the Southern Tier Leadership Initiative.
Mentoring provides the mentee an opportunity to learn from an experienced practitioner how to navigate many of the challenges and decisions faced by early childhood leaders within the context of a confidential and supportive relationship. Mentors benefit through the opportunity to develop their skills in communication, leadership, and adult education, and to share their expertise, contributing to ensuring quality in the early childhood field. Mentor/mentee matches are made on a rolling basis, based on the needs of mentees and our current pool of mentor’s qualifications and experiences.
If you are a member of the Southern Tier Leadership Initiative and are interested in developing your leadership and management skills, exploring careers, developing contacts, and/or identifying resources then mentoring may be the right opportunity for you.
