Early Childhood Head Teacher

Description:

Responsibilities:

  • The Head Teacher works in three weekly rotating shifts:

Week 1: 7:30am - 2:30pm

Week 2: 8:00am - 3:30pm (1/2hr break)

Week 3: 10:00am - 6:00pm (1hr break)

  • Supervise all classroom activities.

  • Observe, document and evaluate the children's development to find ways to support each child.

  • Plan and execute a developmentally appropriate curriculum with engaging, open-ended activities.

  • Lead weekly team meetings.

  • Lead parent-teacher conferences.

  • Communicate regularly with families through email, a school app, phone and in-person.

  • Plan and execute special projects and/or events.

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education 

(or currently in a Master’s program). 

  • NY State teacher certification.

  • At least one year of classroom experience in an early childhood setting.

  • Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Warm, nurturing demeanor with the ability to connect with both children and adults.

  • Positive attitude, collaborative nature and eager to learn.

Competitive Salary: 

$55,000 - $65,000 (depending on level of education and experience)
